Moter Trim Stuck! Need Answer ASAP please!

My father and i have recently purchased a 1999 Carolina Skiff Sea Chaser. Just this mornin the trim would not let down, so i released the pressure in the lines by loosing the screw by the motor brackets.. As i went to let the motor back up, nothing happened. I could hear the trim motor working but the boat engine would not let up. I have reason to believe there may not be enough fluid in the lines or lifting piston to lift the motor.. if anyone has any suggestions on what to do about my situation, they would be greatly appreciated.
