This is my first post, but I read this forum often. I have a very new boat - '08 Ebbtide with a Merc 3.0 in it. Just last weekend I was towing some wakeboarders and the engine died when I dropped down to idle. When I try to start and rev it up in neutral the engine is not very responsive. Sometimes revving up and then dropping down again. It is almost impossible to get it in gear without it dying. Because the engine is so new, I just don't know what would be the best path to start down in troubleshooting this issue.

Thanks,
Chris

Should still be under warranty, take it to a Mercruiser dealer. If for some reason you can't, idle adjustment is really simple. Look at the throttle cable as it's hooked up to the carb. or throttle body. There is a cam looking, or lobe, adjustable plate with a flat head slotted screw on it. Turn it clockwise to increase idle.
