2004 50hp outboard Help?

I have a 2004 50hp 2 stroke mercury outboard. The problem I have is when the motor is running under a load between 2200 and 2800 rpm there is a rattle in the motor. It sounds like if you had a bolt and shook it in a plastic coffee can. I installed a new prop and that did not help. It starts and idles good and any rpm outside of the 2200 to 2800 rpm range sounds and runs good. Any help would be appreciated.

did u ever find out what the rattle is in your motor cause i have a 04 50hp mercury and is does the same thing?
