1981 Rinker 165 Mercruiser stall
The engine starts right up and will run good. Then I slow down put the motor to nuetral and then she stalls and dies. The engine turns over good my problem lies with it starting again, which it will do but with much anticipation and anywhere from 15min to sometimes over an hour. I just bought the boat and the guy said he had replaced the points, plugs, wires, and other small items i don't remember. Another thing i don;t know if it is related but there is a brown and white wire disconnected next to the up solenoid of the trim.

Hmm...could it be your neutral start safety interlock? You may want to repost in the I/O forum. More readers there.

just to let everyone know i replaced the inline filter and the fuel pump filter working great
