I have an '83 Johnson 60 hp 2 stroke engine. I have had it worked on and it ran fine once. Then when I shifted into forward it jumped twice like I had hit something. Now when you shift into forward or reverse it rebs up but it wont go into either, it just sounds like it is hotting something in the Control Center. But, when I get it home on hose it ****s into forward or reverse but it wont when I get to the lake. I checked the gear oil and I had a good bit of water come out before the gear oil began to drain. What do I check first?
