Hi I'm kinda new to boats, I came across a deal on a boat from a friend not sure on make and model its an older fiberglass boat with a 61 evinrude 40hp o/b and 85 omc single lever control. My question is from the digrams I can find 1 wire on each coil is grounded on the motor and the other 2 run to each M terminal on the ignition switch which does not make sense because those are grounded before they come out of the controls. I have tested both coils and both create spark but when it comes to the wiring on the boat I get absolutely nothing. I have attatched 2 pics of other things on the motor that I dont know what they do and how the need to be wired. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The white wire runs up under the flywheel and is connected to a switch but there is nothing coming off of the other side of the switch

one side of this is grounded to the engine

The top picture looks to be the vacuum cut out. I am not sure of it's function, however. The bottom picture looks like an overheat sendor. Those motor had a hot light on the dash.

Those motors had a spark killer wire that ran from the ign switch to the coils under the flywheel. The coils were connected to one another at the ign switch, to kill spark and stop the motor. When you put the ign switch into the run position, the switch should unconnect the M terminals. The other side of the coils are always grounded, very much like an old lawnmower ign, except it is a dual ign system, one for each cylinder.
