With a lot of help from you guys here I finally got my 140 running. From the month I got it nearly 2 years ago it wouldn't idle. After rebuilding the carbs 3 times, replacing plugs and plug wires, recirc valves, decarboning 3 times, replacing all intake gaskets, inspecting the reed boxes, syncing and linking my eyes out, and going through the entire electrical system, I must have finally fixed the problem(s). I'm still not sure exactly what the problem was.

Now my 1976 Glasply can do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_QkRiO6Fnc&feature=related

The boat was originally my grandfathers. I was given it a few years ago and restored both the boat and the '92 Evinrude 70 that was on it. I swapped the perfectly running 70 for a 93 140 for waterskiing, which then started all of my problems.

I wanted to thank everyone that posted in my threads for their tips and hints. They were very valuable and helped a relative newbie like me finish my project. Thank you very much!
