mismatched motor to throttle control

I have a 85 model 90 horse johnson and dont know the year of control or how to find out.The one i have has a wire on end of cable that fits in hole and set screw tightens up on it.Where can i find a throttle cable like this?How can i find out year of control box?Any and all help will be appreciated.

Why not just buy the right control off craigslist cheap.?
