I have a problem that I have had on my boat for a little time. Boat is an 89 four winns sundowner with the 5.0 chevrolet. Sometimes when I just launch the boat the temp will rise and rise. To get the temp back down I can rev the engine and it will immediately come back down. This only happens after I launch the boat. Once the boat has been in the water and restart no problems. Almost like air is in the line. I have replaced the impeller, water pump, and thermostat. I am not sure what else to check and was thinking of a new thermostat housing. Please help before I forget and she overheats.
But if I let it warm very little and then take off no cooling problems at all. No problems with running high rpms just low only.
