If you changed the impeller/water pump.I would blow some air with a compresser in the water hole.It may be just clogged?Just a simple idea. There is really nothing to the cooling system!

Welcome to iboats.

Do you have a weed trimmer? Use a piece of weed trimmer line and use it to make sure the tell tail line is clear. You might want to remove the line and make sure.

Did you change the thermostat? Are you sure it is opening?

Additionally while it is running you should be able to touch the head and it should not burn you.

They get clogged really easily. I ran into some shallows at night and clogged mine with sand, then had to get towed in (sea tow rocks!).

Anywho, the next day I went outside with some thick gauge wire, got access to the fat part of tube that goes in the pee hole fitting, and just worked it back and forth till I got it clear. At first it was not working so I took an igloo water jug and held it upside down while holding it tight to the hose and let the water get in there. (I live in an apt., a hose would be better for this. ) Blow through the tude too, with a compressor of just ur mouth.

If this doesn't work then you need to think about taking the lower end back apart and see if the tube leading from the pump to the block is seated corectly. Also if you have not already you should check the tube for blockage while its apart.

Also, when you put the impeller in, did you rotate the shaft?

One last thought, I had a mercury that was blocked bad, and I followed the hose on the top of the motor to the nipple attached to the block. It turned out the P/O had used a crappy plastic nipple instead of brass or metal. The thing had deteriorated in the hole and was blocking the flow from block to hose. Dug it out for two hours and replaced it with a brass, then it peed like nobodys business.

Did you put in a complete water pump kit, and used sealer under the impellor plate. There is no tell-tale indicator on this engine. Did you change or check the thermostat?
