Ive just bought a 1978 9.9hp johnson outboard short shaft the guy just had it tuned up saw paper work on it, heres the problem took it up to the lake and it started second pull idled fine warmed it up for a minute or so and shifted it into gear forward and increased throttle sounded and ran boggy thryed this for a minute or two tryed primmer bulb (brand new) then tryed in reverse it ran full throttle almost tossed the motor in the boat went back to forward and same problem is there a fix, could it be throttle linkage or fuel or spark dont know to much about outbaords could some one please help thanks
