Hi
I just bought my first power boat. Its a 17 foot aluminum center console with a deep V hull. Its is powered by a 1992 70 hp Johnson. I am wondering what this threaded hole is for. It is beside the thermostat housing and not a head bolt hole. I am guessing a temperature probe. If some body can help me I would be grateful. please and thankyou in advance. :)

i believe the temp probe is the one next to it with the wire connected.

the one with the wire is the temp warning sensor, looks like some one has a temp guage on it at one time.
