1974 Mercury 85h.p. wiring harness

I'm not sure if this has been posted before. I am in need of a wiring harness that goes from the forward controls and plugs into the side of the motor. The motor is an 85h.p. 850 Mercury outboard. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Those can be tough to come by, maybe e-bay or someone on here. Do you have a wiring harness that is not functional or is it missing?

the boat has the wiring harness, but it is in sad shape. I thought someone might have an idea of where to get an aftermarket one or maybe someone has one that is in good shape.

Hi This is Swampboy. New to forum. I got an interior engine harness for a 1972 800EL 80 hp 4 cyl 80 hp Mercury. From www. marineengine.com. You may need a part number for your harness. Also the serial # on your engine. Iboats has a Universal Boat Harness # 474-9550 from CDI Electronics that has a "tilt motor control" (no tilt motor just control). It may work on your engine. From Swampboy..The wire harness shown on the Crowley site is for the interior part of the engine. If you are looking for the harness that plugs into the outside of the engine and goes up to the control unit, then you need to check out the "Universal Boat Harness from Iboats " # 474-9550. The part may be cheaper from Marineengine. com .You can send them an e-mail, and they will let you know if the boat harness will work for your engine.
