I see that most motors up through the 90's and i THINK inot the 2000's had VRO systems.

I have a 2001 Johnson 50 HP...it isnt gray like a lot of 2000's i see. it is white and it does not have a VRO pump...doesnt look like it ever did.

I am wondering if I got a commercial version maybe..

thanks

many people took off the VRO pump, and installed a straight fuel pump, on those models. what is the model #, because there was the 48spl, that was not OMS pump, it was a premix motor, could have had a 50 cover put on it.

Re: when did they stop making VRO motors?

I dont remember any blocked fuel lines...I have recently bought an 88 70 hp and a 97 90 hp and right away it was easy to see the blocked off oil lines!!

my motor is a J50 ELSI

it is white ..i remember my buddy buying a new 25 hp and it was dark gray his was either a 2000 or a 2001

it seems that some motors marketed for salt water were white...

so they still made VRO motors in 2001??

thanks

VRO became VRO 2 which became OMS.
