Windlass

has anyone ever installed a windlass on an Albemarle 26cc (1996). I am tired of wrestling with the anchor and the anchor locker is under another locker in the forepeak (I sue this space to store cleaning and mechanical supplies. The problem is, the windlass will need to drop the rode and chain through this locker and into the anchor locker below. I am thinking that I will need to install a PVC chase through this locker. Are there any other issues I needs to be aware of?

I have three batteries on board
