Hello,
I am having a fuel pick up problem. I have a mercarb (I think) Carb, and an "old style" carter mechanical fuel pump with the filter on top. If I disconnect the pump to carb line no fuel will pump out. I removed the fuel pick up from tank and it is clear. I can blow thru the check valve into the pump and air will come out of line when removed from the carb. (should this happen?) I took the fump off and disassembled to make sure diaphram was not ruptured and ports were open, reassembled and operated by hand. It would pump fuel thru the 1 foot hose I used. Could the pump be weak? any other thoughts? also the fuel is 2 seasons old, I did have sta-bil in it though.
thanks, spencer
