I am going to remove a hydrofoil and install a pair of Smart Tabs. Do I need to fill the screw holes in the cavitation plate? If I leave the holes open will it affect performance?

Re: Holes in Cavitation Plate

No worries, can leave them as is or plug them up. I had the same situation and opted to fill the holes with epoxy. Applied duct tape to the bottom of the anti-cavitation plate then filled the holes with epoxy. Leveled it out and let it cure then removed the duct tape. Stayed in place for the 4 years I owned the boat.

If you don't fill them, you may get some spray from the holes but they are so small they won't have an effect on performance.

As stated, the holes will have no effect. I would leave them alone, but I'm too lazy to fill, sand and paint the repair.

BTW- that plate is the anti-ventilation plate.
