Default 3 step ladder...instead of my 2 step?

I have a 2005 Bayliner 175BR...and I wish that there was a third step on the OEM transom mounted boarding ladder.

Does anyone know if Bayliner ever offered a 3 step ladder for the 175BR? If so...is it a direct replacement for my current 2 step?

good question...been thinking about it myself. I know you can get 3-step ones from overtons and WM, but i dont know if they would fit or not. It sure would be nice to have a 3-step though.

Yeah, REDONE!

My guess is "no"...but if no one jumps in by Monday, I am going to try to contact Bayliner, and ask!

page 280 in overtons has a few different size ladders that are 2 and 3 step telescoping. Im not near my boat right now or i would measure and see if one could be made to work.

Model #76244 is stated to be 11 5/8" wide...the ladder on my boat measures very close to that, outside of hinge nut to outside of the opposite nut. I don't know if the product overall width includes these two bolts....

As for length (folded and collapsed), the info for #76244 doesn't give this...but it doesn't look like my boat ladder recess has any room to accomodate the third step. It seems like the two rails that the pivot bolts go through could be redrilled a little ways down...the rail ends cut, and the rail caps installed...and this would only shorten the overall ladder by less than an inch.

What we need is a centerline to centerline measurement of the two side rails....

Take care,
John
