My '99 C90 Serial L/500718/U starts to throttle up prematurely when I select reverse. It's starting to rev just before reverse engages which makes for sloppy manoevering!

I've tried adjusting at the powerhead but that didn't work out - no reverse gear at all! I also looked on here but couldn't find the same problem.

I have the C90 Yamaha manual but it doesn't deal with the 703 Control Box and I suspect that's where my problem is. I didn't have the rig from new and suspect it's been a problem from day One.

Could one of you ever helpful experts point me at adjustment instructions to sort this out and at least confirm I can't adjust this problem out at the powerhead end?
