I am running a 13.25X17 prop now. If I wand more hole torque and less top speed, which size prop should I use? 1987 Johnson 90hp, 16ft open bow, fibreglass hull. Thank you.

You should post your wide open throttle RPM to start any prop change discussion. But the easy answer is to go down to a 15 inch pitch and try it . . .

Man, I would think that a 17 on a V4 on a 16' boat would be a rocket out of the hole.

It is. I am trying to understand the relationship between pitch and torque. It appears that when pitch goes down, torque goes up. BTW, top rpm is 5000 now m/l. I am very happy with my set up now. Trying to understand. Thanks to you all.
