I am selling a OMC stringer upper gear case that came off of a 307 chevy engine and a guy ask me this question.

I have a OMC 400, its a 1981 120hp motor, I blew the upper gear case and looking for a new one, I believe 77 is when they changed the stinger around a bit, but I don't know. Can u send some advise my way? Thanks *****?
So I need to know what to tell him.
P.S.
The upper gear case is a 1975 model that came off of a 1975 chris craft gull wing.
