I have been getting the "no oil" light recently. I took the boat in to get checked out by a family friend. He could not find anything wrong with the engine. Tested the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, checked the oil pressure switch, looked over the wires and everything checked out ok. He scanned the computer and it stored 13 no oil codes. Tech dept. told him to change the oil pressure switch??? He did but I have the problem again.
Can a faulty gauge in the dash cause the computer to store a code?
Also, sometimes when I turn the key on, without starting the engine, the 4 dash light will each light up like they are suppose to but the no oil light will stay on or start to flicker - No Engine Running-
This problem did not happen when I had it in the shop. Seems to start after several hours of boating.
I did a site search but only found a thread about changing a gauge. That's why I asked about the codes possible coming from the gauge.
Any ideas before I take it in again? Don't want to throw parts at it.
Thanks
