I was hoping for a couple of focused areas to look at before scratching my head.
Have a 3cylinder 90HP mariner. #OD163656
I has good compress and idles just fine.
I put it on a boat and took to the boat ramp to test it under a load. Basically keep the boat strapped down and throttle up while in gear to check timing advance and so forth.
When I did the thottle up under load (prop spinning) I started to Knock and I shut it down immediately.
I am about to pull the powerhead. I was wondering if any of you guys had an educated guess where to focus to find the knock.
