No start, weak spark on '98 Merc 6 HP?? Need help!!

My 1998 merc 6hp ran just fine and now it will not start. Seems to have a weak spark. What would be the cause and what is the fix??

could be weak battery, or not turning over fast enough if pull rope, starter could be to slow may need a little oil on starter gear and flywheel, could be a bad ground, bad connection somewhere.
