I have a 2001 Glastron with a Volvo Penta SX drive. On Monday the trim was working slowly and then stopped. I worked on it tonight thinking it was an electrical problem. It was also very low on fluid so I topped off the fluid. I realized that it tripped the main breaker so I reset the breaker and the motor was barely turning and would keep tripping the breaker. I took the motor out of the housing and it turned over hard in both directions and the fitting inside the housing was difficult to turn and must be binding the motor and causing the amp to spike and trip the breaker. I think the motor is fine but I'm confused. Could it be bearing problem in the pump housing? Is there something else I should check? Any help would be appreciated!
