started re-wiring a classic 50, 1989 I believe (s/n AO996542) and in the rats nest of wiring there is a black rubber tube 1/4 to 3/8 O.D. running from the front of the lower unit up to the console but its not attached to anything and I cant find anything it could attach to. hoping someone could tell me what it's for. looks to me like a automotive vacuum hose? One more and I'll stop- there is a 0-15 PSI gauge that has (4) wires on it. blue goes to other gauges, black goes to ground on other gauges, then theres a black and white wire that have been cut. Wondering if anyone could tell me what the white wire hooks to?

The little hose from the gearcase is used for water pressure at speed to register the speedo.

A 0 to 15 psi guage may have been aftermarket water pressure for the engine cooling. See if there is any additional wiring alongside the wiring harness to the motor and a pressure sending unit on the motor.
