85 Johnson 70 HP engine idles great 800-900 rpm, but when I engage the trotle to go forward or back the engine goes to 1200 rpm and Dies I checked the trotle linkage and the engine runs smooth up to 4500 rpm when The carbarator linkage is advanced. Is the problem with the spark advance?
