hi all my 6hp seahorse turns over revs for about 5 sec then dies everytime i try to start it. I bought it a few months ago gave it a full overhaul using the top secret file but now it wont run. it sounds like its not getting gas and just burns itself out quick could it be the fuel pump or carb? thanks for the help.

If the spark and compression are OK, then it is very likely the carb. The fuel pump is out of the picture (unless it's totally clogged) until the carb bowl needs filled. If it makes you feel better, I've been working on the ignition of my 1970 6 HP this weekend trying to get the spark right....it runs, but I'm not happy with it.

I think your right, it isn't getting the gas it needs. I would recommend another good cleaning of the carb. Then go to the Top Secret File at the top of this forum and make certain your slow speed needle valve is adjusted correctly. Also, make certain your choke plate is staying closed once it fires. Best of luck. Rick.
