I'm a newbie so I apologize if I do anything wrong. I have a 1978 85 hp Johnson Model #85ML78C S/N 14955222 Had it out yesterday and it ran great. Got it home and I moved the control arm forward and felt like something snaped inside. I have opened it but found nothing broken. But now it wont shift in to reverse. Shifts forward and to neutral fine (this is being done without the engine running). The second problem I have is when I turn the key to start nothing happens, if I push it in the choke works. My batteries are new and fully charged and all other boat electronics work fine. I'll try to jump the starter solenoid this morning. My question is can these 2 problems be related? I greatly appreciate any feedback at all since I'm totally frustrated now. Thanks and have a great day!
