I have a 1950s 30hp johnson it runs good i had it all gone threw last year the only thing is that i let my brother use it and he couldnt get it to start so he took the face plate off it and when he did that he backed the two screws out both on the top of the carb and bottom!(moron) Anyways my question is how do i set them? do i just screw them all the way in and back them out till the motor runs good or is there a certian way this is to be done?!!? Please help me its boating season and im dying to get out on the lake!!! thanks

Try about 3/4 to 1 turn on the high speed (bottom) and about 1.5 turns on the low speed (top) as a starting point.
