what is a good baseline setting for the idle mixture screws (how many turns out to start, and how many turrns would be considered to much), im having problems with stalling when going into gear.

Initial settings are 1-1/2 turns out form lightly seated. However, if you are stalling going into gear, and the idle speed is proper (800-900RPM), you might just be able to tweak it. If the motor accelerates smoothly, just lean out the idle mixture by turning the lower carb 1/8 turn CW. Test performance. If not right, turn mid carb in 1/8 turn and test. If still NG, turn in top carb 1/8 turn. If you get to a point where the motor stumbles trying to accelerate, and stalls going into gear, open the screws back up, and eitehr live with it or clean and adjust the carbs.

Make sure the fuel mix is fresh and mixed exactly at 50::1
