1988 chaparral

I have a 1988 chaparral 2350 sx with a 5.7liter mercrusier and it will only turn 3800 rpms is there any way i can get it to turn more one guy told me it should turn around 5000 rpms

Fuel filter plugged?
throttle cable not adjusted correctly
carb not adjusted correctly
prop way too big
motor too weak
trailer still attached

I put new plugs,wires,coil,cap,rotor button,fuel filter changed the oil and new air cleaner, and also a new stainless prop that is 14 1/4 x 20

Did you run a compression test on the engine by any chance?

How high did it rev with the old prop ?
