30 hp 1993 evinrude cooling problrm

i have a 1993 30 hp. evinrude it blew a head gasket so i put on a new one, checked the impeller was like new ran for a while and overheated, pumps good water but cylinders get real hot exhaust plate stays cool, also replaced thermastat. what else can i do ????? thanks

check and see if the water tube grommet got pinched when installing.
