Hey, I just did a major upgrade to my Mercruiser 470 engine (converted to alpha to add power steering). Now I'm wondering where I should install the throttle/shift plate. My previous one was mounted on my pre-alpha inner transom plate, but with the alpha plate there is no place for it to be mounted.

The donor boat/motor had the plate mouted on the starboard side of the engine. But the 470 has no location to mount the plate as the intake manifold is on that side.

I considered just getting some big lags and screwing it to the transom.

Please let me know your thoughts.

PS. IF someone could give me the correct name of this plate... I will re-title the post and my references in this article.

Ayuh,... It really doesn't matter Where you mount it,...
As long as the cables are free to move without binding...
