dont use starter fluid on a 2 stroke motor. ever. squirt mix gas from a little bottle.

Anyhow, how are you getting fuel in to the motor? seems very likely that the carb needs a good cleaning. Are the carbs wet?

On my motor, it only needs choke for an instant to start- any more and it will flood. To clear a flooded chrysler, I have found it best to manually open the throttle butterfly wide open, no choke, and crank. May need 2 people...when it catches let go of the butterfly so it doesnt over rev.

Thanx I am just taking the word that it only sat this long. It sounded good when it fired but then quit. Where does the water come out for the water pump? Top exhaust or bottom or? Bill
