Help, going nuts! I have an older (1974) evinrude that needs help. I have had the Carb. cleaned 3 times, replaced all fuiel lines, points and condsers and one coil. After all this, the motor still does not come to full power at high speed unless I pull the choke out. It idels and runs at mid range power like a top.
choking means fuel starvation, it is not getting enough gas. high speed jets behind the bowl drain plug. you need tool to get them out and clean, also the tube in the center of the upper half has to be clear. > http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=244013
