Power trim works quite well under the midrange on gauge, but when I pull it up for trailering or go to put it down, the main piston sounds like the worst squeaky door hinge on the planet!!!!!

On the way down from full up position it will sometimes get stuck ?while making that awful noise for a bit and then it drops down.

I do not have a manual, although I spent a good part of the day looking for an online one?
I have lubed both grease nipples on the front and also put some grease on the piston, but to no avail.

Thanks for any responses.

P.S.
Figured out why my trim gauge wasn?t working from this site today ?sender on the motor was stuck in the down position?.

Sounds like theres air in the system and you might be hearing hi-pressure spitting,

have you added any fluid?

bleed it by cycling up and down a few times and recheck fluid level.

To anyone who may be searching all these threads regarding noisy trim and especially problems with the motor not going back down on it's own when trimming down.

Ignore all the silly / stupid replies telling you to put more fluid in your system!!!!!!!!
Just replace the bushing at the top of your main center piston.
There are 2 cotter type pins on either side that have to be removed and then you pound out the main pin with a piece of brass and replace bushing. The part costs $5.00.

How hard was that all you "online experts"

Thanks for nothing!

Re: 90 hp/ power trim grinding noise

I guess I'm used to the only other forum I have ever joined.........4 years ago for Old Honda Bikes. We seem to be able to get a guy to a conclusion of his problems over time, and don't give up on him. All the treads I came up with on my searches for "OMC Trim noise" here ended with nothing ever being solved?

I wasn't trying to be a troll, but....really......?
