performance gains

Does any one know of any way to get more hp gains/top gains out of a inline 4 120hp mercruiser engine? its in a 1971 starcraft 19' aluminum I/O, any suggestions? anything is appreciated:D

Ayuh,... Trade it for a boat with a Bigger motor....

There's really No more Horsepower to be found in That motor...

appaloosa..... your boat has a twin!!!! :D mine looks just like the pictured one color and everything!!!, so i guess im pretty much topped out at 120hp... o well if its not broke dont fix it!! :eek:

What prop are you running on that 120 ?

Highly recommend a 14 1/4 x 19 for best performance.

ill get some pics up as soon as i get the new camera!! the last one got a lil wet!! :eek:lets just say i was doing some bank fishing with my son and "my feet" decided to run towards the water;) na i slipped on some moss and there i went!! but ya ill get some up for ya!! also im really not sure what prop is on it.... the same ol thing that was on it when i got it

It is what is!. My 3.0LX tops out @45mph in best possible conditions (clean hull, smooth water and 4 passengers) w/ the 141/4x19 alpha1gen11 on my 17.5 Sea Ray. Don't mess w/ reliability.
