I have a 1997 KW 1720 W/90 HP Johnson. Bought new. Never had water/ fuel issue till now. I installed a water separator. Motor will run great under load for app. 10 minutes, when I remove the filter and pour out the gas half is water, refill filter with fuel and I'm good for another 10 min. I have drained the fuel tank twice and have had it at the dealer. They removed app. 1/2 gallon of water. Were is the water coming from?

Thanks

Mike

Re: Water in fuel

The ethanol in gasoline absorbs water from the air after sitting for a few weeks. Treat your fuel with Star-tron fuel additive, that will help.
