The transducer on my Lowrance x67c became lose and i think it was cut off when it hit my trim tab. I need to replace the transducer.
Is there any way of doing it with out rerunning new wires back to the fish finder. Can the wire be spliced?

Re: Transducer repair

You can solder the wires together. Wrap ther wire individually with tape and use a marine grade shrink tube to seal the deal. It has silicone built into the shrink tube that will make a water tight seal when heated. It can be purchased at most dealers. I use QuickSilver(sorry, I can not remember part #).

I have fixed several transducer on customers boats this way (muscrat damage) but tell them there is always the risk of water causing corrosion at the splice. It usually would take several years to cause a problem though.

I believe transducer cables are shielded and tuned. Cutting and splicing anywhere in it will change the impediance and may change how the FF works.
