How to fix chip in lower unit housing

I recently purchased a 1999 Merc 25 ELH from a gentleman locally. There is a chip out of the lower unit housing. I don't know its "official" name but its the bullet shaped cycllinder that the prop shaft goes into. Apparently he hit a rock or something with it at one time. The motor seems to run fine but I would like to do something with that bad area, It is approximately 1 1/4" long by 1/2" wide by maybe 1/16" deep (these are all approximates). Would 2-part epoxy seal it or should I try to find someone who could weld or braze it?

It is not cracked - just chipped.
