2003 yamaha 250 hpdi loss of power after filter change

Changed water seperator filter on my 250 hpdi and now engine is missing hard to get on plane and will only achive approx 4900 rpm. Cleaned filter on port side of engine along with screen in tank on port side of engine. blew out fuel lines from engine to tank all no help.Ran fine before I changed water seperator filter, put old filter back on problem stayed. ????

most likly either the VST filter is clogged or the medium pressue filter is clogged, or both.
they are maint itemes and shoild be change BEFORE they fail.

I am having the same problem...I changed the fuel element and the VSC filter. It is like the engine just stops instantly for 1 second, never completely stalls and is worse at higher RPM... any help is appreciated !
