On my last boat outing I noticed that my trailer wiring was fraid, cut, and otherwise damged. I know how it happened and repaired the wiring.
However, I tested the trailer's lights on my Ranger and not the F-150 that the trailer was hooked to when damaged. Driving the F-150 I then discovered that I had no running lights but brake and turn signals worked.
From previous advice given here on iboats, I knew that I had a blown fuse in my tow vehicle. I traced down the fuse, replaced it with the same rating and am now good to go. Cost me 80 cents for the fuse.
Thanks to iboats for helping me with this problem and I didn't even have to ask the question "My running lights don't work. Can you help me?"
ps. The wiring was damaged when I used an extension hitch and I think the trailer wires were somehow wrapped around or under the hitch ball, thus causing the damage.
