skag replacement on 97 sport nautique?

skag replacement on 97 sport nautique?

I know this has been answered before, but do the skags on the bottom go thru the hull or fasten to nutserts? I'm looking at a boat that has damaged ones and wondering if it's a quick fix or a huge pain. Thanks
