i broke a control cable , and replaced it, now I can't get the motor to go in gear. i'm wondering if i switched the cables in repair so I'm going to switch them on the motor and try that if that does not work any suggestions of what I might have done. when the cable broke, all the boat would do was go in reverse, the one cable was broke and replacement i thought went smooth for the first time doing this, but I'm lost with it not wanting to go in gear, i hope its just an adjustment. thanks for the help.

Re: control cables

OK, remove the wrap cowl and look at where the control cables attach. As you move the throttle handle from neeutral to forward, the bottom shift cable on the motor should move first. It will stop and then the top throttle cable will start to move.

Now once you have identified the shift cable, put the control into neutral, free both cable's barrel nuts from the clamp, and move the shift slide until the prop turns freely in both directions (motor off). Now adjust the shift cable's barrel nut to fit the clamp, and reinstall the throttle cable barrel nut.
