Has anybody ever tried Alumalloy brazing rods for leaky seams? I have also gotten the recommendation for Quickset 5200.

I've used Alumalloy rods for repairs on various items, but it's tricky and requires a good feel for the right temp. The work has to be super clean as well.
I'd probably opt for a good epoxy for just a leak, unless you can see a structural crack opening up.
A buddy dumped his jon boat out the back of this truck on the road, I was able to weld up the gouged, and worn away seam at the transom to boat bottom but found it impossible to make it 100% water proof. I finally gave up and brushed on some gluvit and repainted it. That was several years ago and it gets used weekly.

If this is a riveted boat no, you do not want to try and braze a seam.

Most put a gasket type material in between the seams and if you melt that you will never get it to stop leaking.

the best way to stop leaks in a riveted boat is to rebuck the rivets.

If it is a welded hull then yes you can try but as a welder I can tell you it isn't as easy as it looks so unless you have done it before I would practice on something you don't care about first.

I used the rods not sure who made them bought them ten years ago.I brazed some pin holes in the bilge area not on seams though.I did weld my neighbors bass tracker several years ago all of the keel rivets with a tig welder.I don't know if it had a gasket in it or not.No problems since maybe 8 or 9 years.I think 5150abf probably knows what he's talking about I read his profile nice to have some pro's on the site.
