Readings will vary with accuracy of the guage, strength of pull and other factors.
Your concern will be how close the cylinders match. look for around 60-100 psi on a hand pull. 5% variance or less would be best.

60 per side seems common as I've watched posts on the 9.5 for some time. Mine is @ 60 and runs very well. The common consensus on this forum is within 10% of each other. Best of luck. Rick.

I have a '58 Sportwin that is rated at 10HP and my compression is right at 80 lbs. out of each hole. I may be wrong but how different can these motors be?

No doubt but then that's not a 9.5 either. So many things can alter the compression reading. Test methods, accuracy of gauge, temp. of motor etc.
Just seems to me 9.5's are good to go in the 60 and up range. Rick.

My newly installed factory replacement powerhead (quite a find). Weighs in at 98psi in each hole turning from the flywheel with a rope. Just make sure they're even and you'll be fine.
