"URGENT" Teleflex install single cble

trying to get the cable out of the tube attached to the motor.

single system...where should the locking nut be, all the tight or loose.

cable nut is spinning the whole thing not getting anywhere, just loosens locking nut. read directions but doesn't tell me. installed one before but don't remember.

appreciate all help.

The steering cable is connected to the tilt tube. The tilt tube is simply a pipe with threaded ends and two nuts. if that is what is spinning, first tighten the two nuts to see if that stops the spinning. if not, put a pipe wrench on the tilt tube and hold it while you loosen the cable nut.

thanks admiral, i didn't se the nut on the other side.

will do pipe wrench, is the cable nut ordinary righty,tighty,lefty???

Threads are right handed. Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey

When you tighten the tilt tube nuts, you will be relying on friction to resist the turning force you put on the cable nut. This may be insufficient, hence having the pipe wrench handy.
