Hello
I have a 1974 135HP silver starflite. I am having problems with my power trim unit. I have a bad cylinder and am having problems finding a new one. Also need to replace the water pump. I have ordered a manual for it. Does anyone have any suggestion on the power trim problem?

The trim cylinder is a specialty part; try sea-way.com in Seattle, WA.

The tilt cylinders are still listed through any BRP dealer.

Neither one will be cheap.

thanks ezeke i emailed them hope they have good news. I was told by a local boat shop that I may be able to change it over to a newer style trim set up. Does anyone know if that is true? Im starting to think I should just look for another outboard instead of fixing this one.

I don't think the transom brackets on your engine will accept the newer trim units. Ebay occasionally has these early style units offered for sale. You may be able to pick one up and use it for parts.
