Lot's of those type boats around here. Anything that big that's not running is about given away not to deal with storage/slip fees.

the trailer is worth 1/2 that. you have the ability to throw an engine in it. does it still have the outdrives?

I emailed him asking about the drive and engine...see if i get a response..

I could put that in a slip at the lake for 800 a year..;)

The boat is only 2 hours from here...

Slips here are half that a month (more than the price of that boat per season).

This is what i got back from the seller..

"The Block is cracked. Water in the oil. Needs a new block. Volvo AQ260A with a Penta outdrive"

What size is a 260? 5.7?
This has me interested...;)

$3500? Hmmm. Probably get it for $3000. Another $2500-3000 for a 383 or a 454 and you'd have a nice little cruiser there.;)

For comparison, depending on condition the asking price for the same boat runs $4000-8000 with the original motor.

The Volvo numbers get me confused...:p I rely on Don for Volvo info...lol!
I know its a V-8 but haven't looked it up yet...
If that boat is still all together it may be worth taking a ride up there...:)

yea Bob a Nascar motor would be nice to turn into a marine motor...

TD, I was thinking new block and selling the rig for a profit..??
Maybe not...Looks really clean though..

Man am I jealous. I would love a deal like that!! Wish I wasn't so far away or I would snatch that up. (Providing I could talk my wife into it!)

Sorry I can't be of any help with the Volvo part numbers. Good luck if you choose to make the trip to look at it.

Just got another email from the guy.He said the exhaust manifolds, risers and all were just replaced.
He started it today and heard a loud pop and water was leaking in the bilge and looked like water in the oil....
Interesting...:)

Someday I'd love to own a pocket cruiser like that and I really hope to. However I don't think I'm at a stage in my life where I'd have any idea what to do with it. That one looks like a real beaut though. Ah I can dream can't I?

Been talking to the other half about it.
She thinks its too big and will end up being a yard ornament...:(

(She did go out of town until Monday...mmmm..)

I also called the Marina at the lake and no slips are empty this year..bummer.
If a slip was open i would go get it before she got home...if it ran....

If all parts on the engine are good except the block, you could throw a rapido engine in there for $1500 and be good to go.. then again, if that boat was running, what would it sell for? $6000?

Yea,probably 6 or 7k...I wouldn't really make any money on it but it would be fun to own.
I guess i better be happy with what i have...;)

i wouldn't pick up a bigger boat like that without a buyer lined up already. too many bargains out there now and everyone looking for a distressed seller to lowball.

would love to spend a few nights on that though.
